Read this information carefully:
The city of Madinat al Zahra, in Spanish Medina Azahara, was ordered to be built by Abderraman III, the first Umayyad Caliph of Al-Andalus. There are several reasons that surround the construction, either of a political-ideological nature, or popular belief that affirm that it was built in homage to the favourite wife of the caliph, Azahara, hence the name of the medina. In this guided tour you will visit the most important parts of this palace complex such as the Ja’far house, Gran Portico and Salón Rico.
